You can only find Sea Lions at the beach. The Pups are born on the beach in mid December, also they are baby sea lions. Their mothers teach them how to swim and find food so when they grow up they can find their own food and swim.
There are only few thousand Hooker’s Sea Lion left in the world. They eat fish and octopus. When the sea lions grow up they leave their mother for good.
The colours of their skin turn from pale brown to blackish brown as they grow up.
They like to use the Rata tree to protect them. Some of them get killed by sharks and whales and it is now against the law for people to kill Sea Lions.
